DietWise General Assembly in Athens: Key Decisions for Healthier Future
2026-04-14
On 30–31 March 2026, DietWise partners met in Athens for the project’s General Assembly, bringing together the consortium and External Advisory Board to review progress and plan the next steps. The Assembly was organized by Institute of Communication & Computer Sciences at the National Technical University of Athens.
As DietWise project advances in the implementation of its ICT tools and prepares to begin testing them with participants in workshops, the Athens General Assembly marked a pivotal moment in guiding the project’s next steps.
The meeting opened with updates from the Coordination team. They outlined the current reporting period, key procedures, and ethical considerations, alongside the introduction of the External Advisory Board.
Partners then shared progress across core areas of the project. Communication activities (WP9), presented by Marius Naruševičius (AdC), highlighted ongoing efforts to engage stakeholders, while Elzė Uždavinytė (AdC) provided updates on behavioral interventions under WP3.
A central focus of the meeting was Work Package 5, dedicated to the pilot implementation. After an overview by Elena Patra (IHU) and Rosaly Severijns (KU Leuven), partners presented the Belgian, Greek, and Lithuanian pilots, offering insights into their approaches and early experiences. A key outcome was the joint discussion on harmonizing data collection through a shared questionnaire.
Updates on the DietWise Framework and key deliverables (WP4) further advanced the project’s conceptual foundation, while feedback from the External Advisory Board provided valuable guidance.
ICCS presented the current state of implementation of the project’s ICT tools, highlighting their development progress and discussing key aspects to ensure the applications are as useful as possible for the general audience and vulnerable people. The meeting concluded with a joint discussion on next steps, ensuring alignment across partners.
During the discussions, partners also agreed on a key update to the project’s digital tools: the RecipeWatch app will be renamed as MyRecipeWatch. This change reflects a shift towards a more user-centered approach, emphasizing personalization, ownership, and engagement. The new name was considered more intuitive and relatable for users, better capturing the app’s purpose of supporting individual dietary choices and everyday decision-making.
The General Assembly in Athens marked an important step in strengthening collaboration and advancing the implementation phase of DietWise.
